Creator Guide
For Artists, Musicians & Producers
Your creative work is yours. Humark gives you a way to prove it with permanent, biometric-bound signatures that no one can fake, remove, or dispute. This guide covers how visual artists, musicians, and music producers can use Humark to protect their work.
Why You Need This
For Visual Artists
AI models are trained on billions of images scraped from the internet. Your illustrations, paintings, photographs, and designs are being used to generate work that mimics your style without your consent or compensation. Humark creates a permanent, timestamped record proving you are the human who created the original. If your work is copied, scraped, or used to train AI, your Pulse Signature is the proof.
For Musicians
AI-generated music is flooding streaming platforms. Listeners, labels, and curators need a way to tell real music from synthetic output. Humark lets you sign your tracks, stems, album art, and liner notes with your biometric identity. Your signature travels with the file. When a label, publisher, or platform checks your work, they see verified human authorship tied to you.
For Music Producers
Beats, samples, and production elements are your intellectual property. When you sell a beat pack or license a sample, Humark can prove you created the original. This matters for licensing disputes, rights negotiations, and building a verifiable production catalog. Sign your work before you distribute it, and the provenance chain starts with you.
How It Works
Create your work
Paint, photograph, compose, produce. Humark works with any digital file: images (JPG, PNG, TIFF, PSD), audio (WAV, FLAC, MP3, AIFF), video (MP4, MOV), and project files.
Sign with your biometrics
Open the Humark app, select your file, and confirm with FaceID or TouchID. Your device's secure enclave creates a cryptographic signature bound to your biometric identity. Your face or fingerprint data never leaves your phone.
Your work is protected
Your Pulse Signature is registered in the Humark registry with a permanent timestamp. Anyone can verify your authorship. The record cannot be altered, deleted, or forged.
What You Can Sign
| Medium | File Types | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Visual Art | JPG, PNG, TIFF, PSD, SVG | Illustrations, paintings, photos, graphic design |
| Music | WAV, FLAC, MP3, AIFF, OGG | Tracks, stems, masters, demos |
| Production | WAV, MIDI, FLP, ALS | Beats, samples, loops, project files |
| Video | MP4, MOV, MKV | Music videos, visualizers, short films |
| Album Art | JPG, PNG, PDF | Covers, liner notes, booklets |
Common Scenarios
“Someone used AI to copy my art style”
Your Pulse Signature proves you created the original work before the AI-generated copy existed. The timestamp and biometric binding serve as evidence of prior authorship. This is valuable for DMCA takedowns, platform disputes, and legal proceedings.
“A label wants proof I produced this beat”
Share the verification URL or have the label check the file hash against the Humark registry. They will see your verified identity, the timestamp of registration, and the full provenance chain. This is stronger than email receipts, file metadata, or social media posts as proof of creation.
“I want to prove my music is human-made for streaming platforms”
As platforms begin requiring content authenticity labels (driven by the EU AI Act and platform policies), Humark provides a C2PA-compliant credential that platforms can verify automatically. Sign your tracks before uploading to distributors, and the proof travels with the file.
“I sell beats online and want to protect my catalog”
Sign each beat before listing it on BeatStars, Airbit, or your own store. If a buyer disputes ownership or a competitor claims they made it first, your Pulse Signature is permanent proof. You can sign individual beats, beat packs, or entire project files.
What You Attest To
Every time you sign a piece of work with Humark, you make a legally binding declaration that:
- You are the original creator of this work
- This work was made by a human, not generated by AI
- You have the legal right to register this work
- You understand this record is permanent and cannot be deleted
False attestation can result in account termination, manifest revocation, and potential legal liability. For more details, read Creator Attestation Explained.
